Update (3/7/25): God continues to provide abundantly for the church construction project in San Carlos!! Over the past two months He has provided willing hands to do the labor, both from Mexico and from churches in the U.S., to help Ken and Daniel with the construction of the roof. The material purchased for the roof from the recycling center is stronger than what we could have afforded to buy new, and it cost half the price. Heavy metal posts support the roof, so the existing walls of the structure are not bearing the weight. The roof extends far beyond the walls to provide much needed shade around the building, and in the future if an expansion is desired, it will be a simple process. Currently, most of the metal is on the roof with minor details to finish up. Through donations, God has also provided used padded chairs and a great sound system for the new church building!
Praise the Lord! Both the children's club and the Sunday meeting were conducted in the shady overhang of the roof last weekend (March 1-2). (See the photos below!)
Please pray that brothers will continue to volunteer and take joy in participating in the construction. The community is visibly excited. Pray that as the church building continues to take shape, God will continue to stir in and soften hearts of the people in the community to himself, and that they will respond to him in repentance and belief.
As of this time, we believe that sufficient funds have come in to cover the purchase of ALL the materials needed to finish the project. Ken is overseeing the volunteer labor. Any additional gifts not needed for physical construction will be used to support the mission (evangelism, discipleship, and church-growth activities) in the village of San Carlos. Thank you for your enthusiastic support! Please continue to pray for Daniel and Roxana and the new believers in their congregation as they grow and share the Gospel in their community of San Carlos.
Post February 28, 2025 - God has moved in the hearts of fellow believers to help with the labor to advance the work in San Carlos. In addition to the Mexican brothers who have come from Acuña, Piedras Negras, and Nava, labor help has also flowed in from Louisiana State University, Blaine and Mora, MN, and Castle Rock, CO! As of March 16, the church has been meeting under the extended roof area, taking advantage of the shade, and excitedly awaiting the completion of the roof! For now, the building materials are being stored inside the walls while the construction process continues. Pictured above is the Children's Club that meets every Saturday.
February 28, 2025 - Thanks to God, with the sweat and collaboration of mission-minded brothers from both Mexico and the U.S., half of the roof has now been completed!
March 2, 2025 - Just days after the first side of the roof had been finished, the church met under the extended roof area outside the walls. What a blessing!
Update (1/7/25): God is SO GOOD! He has provided abundantly for the construction project in San Carlos, multiplying the pesos and dollars of mission-minded believers in Mexico and the United States to build a meeting place for His Church! At this point, we have surpassed our estimated goal for construction funds for the completion of both phases including the sanctuary, classrooms, kitchen, and small office!! The roof construction project will commence next week, Lord-willing! We hope to have more pictures and updates on the progress soon! Any additional gifts not needed for construction will be used to support the mission (evangelism, discipleship, and church-growth activities) in the village of San Carlos. Thank you for your enthusiastic support!
